Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated 16 August 2026
Why this matters
Mailhuset sends over shared infrastructure, so one sender’s bad behaviour can hurt deliverability for everyone. This policy sets the rules for using the service. It forms part of our Terms of Service, and breaking it can lead to throttling, suspension or termination.
Send only with consent
Send only to recipients who have given you permission to email them, or where you have another clear lawful basis to do so. Do not send to purchased, rented, scraped or harvested lists, and do not email addresses you cannot show agreed to hear from you. You should be able to demonstrate how and when each recipient opted in.
Identify yourself honestly
Use accurate sender names, from addresses, subject lines and headers. Do not disguise, forge or mislead about who the message is from or what it is about. For marketing and promotional email, include a clear way to unsubscribe and a valid physical postal address, as required by laws such as CAN-SPAM.
Honor opt-outs
Make it easy to unsubscribe and act on requests promptly. Do not send to addresses on your suppression list, and do not try to circumvent unsubscribes or our suppression of bounced and complained addresses. Removing someone should be quick and permanent.
Content that is not allowed
Do not use Mailhuset to send or facilitate:
- unsolicited bulk or commercial email (spam);
- phishing, spoofing, fraud, scams or deceptive messages;
- malware, viruses, or links to malicious or harmful sites;
- content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, or sexually exploitative;
- regulated or high-risk categories used deceptively, such as get-rich-quick schemes, illegal substances, or unlawful financial or health claims.
Use of the service
Do not try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service; get around sending limits, approval, rate limits or billing; send on behalf of a third party without their authority; or resell or sublicense Mailhuset without our written permission. Automated sign-ups, key sharing to dodge limits, and similar workarounds are not allowed.
Keep your sending healthy
Keep your bounce and complaint rates low by sending relevant email to engaged recipients and by keeping your lists clean. High bounce or complaint rates, spam-trap hits, or sudden unexplained volume spikes can trigger warm-up limits, throttling or suspension. We may set and adjust these thresholds to protect the shared service.
Monitoring and enforcement
We do not read the contents of your transactional messages in the ordinary course. To investigate abuse, protect deliverability, or comply with the law, we may review sending metadata and, where necessary, a limited sample of content. If you break this policy we may warn you, throttle or pause sending, suspend or close the account, and report unlawful activity to the authorities. Serious abuse, such as spam or phishing, may lead to immediate suspension without notice.
Comply with the law
You are responsible for following the laws that apply to your email, including anti-spam laws such as CAN-SPAM, Canada’s CASL, and data-protection and e-privacy rules such as the GDPR. Where you handle personal data through Mailhuset, our Data Processing Agreement also applies.
Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is misusing Mailhuset, or you received email you should not have, tell us at support@mailhuset.com with the details and we will investigate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service and the threat landscape change. When we make a meaningful change we will update the date above.
